Eco-Friendly Laundry Tips for Kids' Clothes

Kids' clothes get dirty fast, but that doesn't mean you need harsh chemicals. Here are eco-friendly ways to keep clothes clean:

Use Cold Water

Most of the energy used in laundry goes to heating water. Cold water works just as well for most loads and helps preserve colors.

Choose Eco-Friendly Detergents

Look for:

  • Plant-based ingredients
  • Biodegradable formulas
  • Minimal packaging
  • No phosphates or harsh chemicals

Wash Full Loads

Wait until you have a full load before washing. This saves water and energy.

Air Dry When Possible

Hang clothes to dry instead of using the dryer. This:

  • Saves energy
  • Extends the life of clothes
  • Reduces shrinkage
  • Works great for delicate items

Treat Stains Immediately

The sooner you treat a stain, the easier it is to remove without harsh chemicals. Try:

  • Baking soda paste
  • White vinegar
  • Lemon juice
  • Soap and cold water

Use Wool Dryer Balls

Replace dryer sheets with wool dryer balls. They're reusable, reduce static, and can help clothes dry faster.

Small changes add up to big environmental impact!
